What the future holds for Southsea's coastal defences

Research output: Non-textual formArtefact

  • Walter Menteth (Performer)
Southsea seafront is one of Portsmouth’s most popular areas, stretching from Old Portsmouth to Eastney, bringing in much of the city’s tourism in the Summer months.
As with the rest of the UK’s coastline, government funding has been allocated to prepare Southsea for rising sea levels, caused by climate change.
Redevelopment of a space, so important to local residents and the city’s economy is no small task and has inevitably sparked up debate.
Architect Walter Menteth is campaigning with the Portsmouth Elephant Cage, for the best possible coastal defence system.
